Its purpose is to establish spiritual credibility with a group of Christians he has yet to meet as well as expressing his affection in Christ for them.

This Lord’s Day, we continue in the introduction to the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Roman. Who is Paul? What is his message? His life? We see a Gospel-centered man establishing his credibility to Christians in Rome he has not yet met while providing for us a model of the Christian life – a set apart life for the Gospel of God.
