The Prayer that Defines and Directs the Christian Life – Part 15

The Apostle Paul prays that believers would “be strengthened by God’s Spirit in our inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith” (Ephesians 3:17). The questions we are faced with are, “What does it mean for Christ to dwell in the hearts of believers?” and “What type of heart will Christ dwell?” Lord willing, we aim to answer those relevant questions.

Walking as Jesus Walked: A Journey Through our Lord’s Life of Example – Part 6

The Christian life is to be walked as Jesus did while upon the earth. We are currently observing seventeen traits of Jesus in His walk and applying them to ourselves. The Christian life is to be walked as Jesus did while upon the earth. We are currently observing seventeen traits of Jesus in His walk and applying them to ourselves. The Prayer that Defines and Directs the Christian Life – Part 14

The Apostle Paul prays that believers would “be strengthened by God’s Spirit in our inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith” (Ephesians 3:17). The question is, “Who is this Christ we pray to dwell in our hearts?” He is the Exalted Christ and no greater place to see Him in such glory is the Revelation and particularly the worship scene in chapters four and give. This Lord’s Day morning, we seek to behold the Exalted Christ – the Lion and Lamb – revealed in Revelation 5.

The Prayer that Defines and Directs the Christian Life – Part 13

This Lord’s Day morning, we continue our study of the Apostle Paul’s second prayer for the believers in Ephesus. Lord willing, we enter into the substance of the second petition – being strengthened by God’s Spirit in our inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith. In an age of much spiritual activity, we need to ensure the Jesus we claim to know and pray to dwell within us is the Jesus of the Bible and not our imagination. In this service, we will be in Revelation 4 observing the Throne of God to see the Exalted Christ as He is now in that holy place. .

Walking as Jesus Walked: A Journey Through our Lord’s Life of Example – Part 4

This Lord’s Day evening, we continue in 1 John looking at one of the most important pieces of evidence that we are Christians – walking as Jesus walked. We are identifying seventeen characteristics of how Jesus walked and evaluating our lives after His example. By then actively following Him by our obedience, we gain assurance of salvation – a key theme in this letter from the Apostle John.
