When I Am Afraid – Part 4

This Lord’s Day is Resurrection Sunday – the day our Lord rose from the dead conquering sin and death! And when it comes to overcoming fear, here is the ultimate fear-destroyer – living out our union in the One who rose from the dead. To that end, we hope see how the resurrected Lord on the very day of His resurrection conquered fear in the lives of His very afraid disciples.

When I Am Afraid – Part 3

This Lord’s Day is Palm Sunday – the day our Lord made His triumphant entry into Jerusalem beginning His last week of life on the earth. Though we are going to continue our sermon series WHEN I AM AFRAID looking at Nehemiah, the importance of this week – Palm Sunday through Resurrection Sunday must be emphasized and remembered. Without this week of our Lord’s life we have no ability to overcome fear in this life, and especially during this pandemic.

When I Am Afraid – Part 1

In light of what is unfolding in our world and the associated fear with the Coronavirus, Christians need to be reminded it is not a time to be afraid. To those ends, we will begin a new sermon series titled “WHEN I AM AFRAID” looking in God’s Word of what it says about being afraid, examples of being afraid, and how God helps His people overcome being afraid.

Courage in Fearful Times

In light of what is unfolding in our world and the associated fear with the presence and spread of the Coronavirus, Christians need to be reminded of who they are and who their God is. These are not to be times of anxiety and fear among believers, but great opportunities for the Gospel and ministry of encouragement to one another. This Lord’s Day, we will seek courage and understanding our proper response to trying times from a Psalm of great courage – Psalm 91.

The Prayer that Defines and Directs the Christian Life – Part 15

The Apostle Paul prays that believers would “be strengthened by God’s Spirit in our inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith” (Ephesians 3:17). The questions we are faced with are, “What does it mean for Christ to dwell in the hearts of believers?” and “What type of heart will Christ dwell?” Lord willing, we aim to answer those relevant questions.
