Pleasing God, Making Disciples of Jesus Christ

Missions

Ministries

Our motto at QBC is ‘Pleasing God, Making Disciples of Jesus Christ’. This not only includes Rhode Island but to the remotest parts of the earth as commanded in Acts 1:8:

you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

John Piper said “Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn’t.” QBC is committed to reaching for Christ not just those here in our “Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria” but to the least-reached in the remotest parts of the world.

All the Lonely People

Am I doing all I can to be Jesus to those who I can?  Or am I so wrapped up in my own little world of family, ministry, personal pursuits, and pleasures that too many people could look at me and say what David says in today’s scripture – “Look to the right and see: there is none who takes notice of me; no refuge remains to me; no one cares for my soul.”  This challenge forces us to evaluate our Christianity. Christianity consists of three things.  Let’s ponder them together.

Christians Kidnapped During Attack on Marawi

Fourteen Christians were kidnapped on May 23rd during an ongoing attack on Marawi, Philippines by ISIS supporters. About 100 Islamic extremists overran the city, firing machine guns and marking the territory as their own by raising black ISIS flags. In addition to the kidnappings, the Islamists burned a cathedral and Christian-run college and seized a hospital and a jail.
