Pleasing God, Making Disciples of Jesus Christ

Laotian Government Officials Bribe Christians to Renounce Faith

After local government officials in Laos tried to entice five Christian families with a better lifestyle if they rejected their faith, the families stood firm in their beliefs. The families were offered homes with electricity and water, and better schools if the denied Jesus. The families instead decided to continue facing persecution and to endure isolation to be witnesses of Christ’s love to their village.

As a result of their strong faith and their decision to not accept the government’s offer, four families from a neighboring village came to Christ. Pray for these new believers to grow in their new faith as they likely will face challenges. Pray for the five families to remain firm in their faith and to reach other communities.
