The mission of this ministry is to bring the good news of the gospel to the forgotten population in the nursing home environment, to build relationships, loving these folks in sincerity and forging friendships. Our primary goal to is bring Christ to them in a tangible, visible way by loving them and proclaiming Him as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Many of these folks have no family, and spend days and days in loneliness. Some are saved and desire the fellowship they once enjoyed while attending their church. The residents are welcoming and so appreciative, it is a blessing to serve them in this way!
We go to Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Kingstown the first Sunday of every month primarily to build relationships with the residents. We offer a gospel message, prayer, singing, and scripture reading. Beyond the time given to bring a “church” service we encourage everyone who comes to spend time with the residents to do life on life with them and just love them. All one has to do to get involved in this necessary and vital ministry is express interest to either Andrew or Dana Altland, or just show up at the nursing home the first Sunday of the month at 1:00 pm and check it out. We also encourage folks to talk to those already involved and the blessing it is to visit the residents.
Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is located at 740 Oak Hill Rd, North Kingstown. On the corner of Oak Hill and Route 4.
