Pleasing God, Making Disciples of Jesus Christ

1 Samuel – Men’s & Women’s Bible Study

First Samuel is a riveting read that introduces us to some of the most memorable figures in the Old Testament. The greatest of its heroes is David, a mighty man of faith who makes his distinctive contribution to preparing God’s people for the Anointed One, the Messiah who comes to rule and to save.

We will be starting a men’s and women’s parallel study of 1 Samuel: A King after God’s Own Heart on January 4th at 6:15pm. The men will meet in the Church Library, and the women in a ministry wing classroom. Contact Jon Sole or Mike Fahlsing for more information on the men’s study and Stephanie Gaddis for more information on the women’s. You can secure a copy through church for $10 or order one from your favorite retailer.

About the Study Guide

1 Samuel: A King after God’s Own Heart is a 13-lesson Bible study that introduces us to some of Scripture’s most memorable figures—David, Jonathan, Saul, and others—who prepare us for the coming Christ.

This Reformed Expository Bible Study is designed for personal and group use. Each lesson connects to the rest of the Bible and holds to the same standards as the Reformed Expository Commentary series: a high view of Scripture; a Christ-centered focus; a Reformed theological basis; and an emphasis on personal application and prayer.
