Pleasing God, Making Disciples of Jesus Christ

Awana

AWANA is an acronym taken from 2 Timothy 2:15

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Awana is one arm of our youth ministry encompassing both an outreach and church life emphasis. This highly organized, international ministry has been adapted to fit the unique needs of Quidnessett Baptist  Church. Leaders develop friendships with their groups and assist them in their understanding and memorization of Scripture.

In addition to scripture memorization, there is handbook time, games, and refreshments with the goal of reaching boys and girls for Jesus Christ and growing them in Him. It is open from ages three through sixth grade and is conducted during the school year from September to May.

Age Grupos

Cubbies: Preschool Club ages 3-4 (potty trained only, please!)

Sparks: Grades K-2

Truth & Training (T&T): Grades 3-5 (6th grade optional)

AWANA Programs are divided into three exciting segments
  1. Game time – children learn sportsmanship, gain the ability and desire to work together as a team, and just plain have fun!
  2. Handbook time – children commit to memory the precious Word of God. They learn how to memorize God’s Word and the importance of hiding it in their hearts.
  3. Council time – children hear stories from the Bible and learn principles to apply to their lives today.
