Pleasing God, Making Disciples of Jesus Christ

Intimacy with God through the Fellowship of Christ’s Sufferings

“Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour. 28 Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”  John 12:27-28

3. Spiritual suffering draws us close to God: Our cry: John 12:27-28, Psalm 130:1-2,

4. Spiritual suffering draws us close to God: His response: John 12:28b, Psalm 50:14

CHARLES SPURGEON, “When our Lord Jesus was in this great distress, in
anticipation of the terrible sufferings he was about to endure, His Father spoke
to Him: and when you are in the direst distress, God will speak to you. If
you are His child, when the weakness of your flesh seems ready to prevail
over your spirit, you, too, shall have a reassuring voice of the excellent glory
even as your Master had.”
