Job 33

b. Through Pain – Job 33:19-22, Job 33:29-30

Three Purposes of God in Our Pain

1. To remove from us the pride of self-sufficiency while increasing our confidence and dependency on God. – 2 Corinthians 1:8-10

2. To prevent spiritual indifference by fueling zeal in our obedience – Psalm 119:67, 71, 75; Hebrews 5:7-8

3. To deepen compassion and ministry to fellow sufferers –  2 Corinthians 1:3-5
