                                 b.  We are dependent beings: 1 Cor. 4:7

                                 c.  We are sinful beings: Rom. 3:23

           3.  The spiritual necessity of humility

                                 a.  For salvation from the Lord: Luke 4:18-19, Matt. 11:28-30

                                 b.  For fellowship with the Lord: Isaiah 66:1-2, 2 Chron. 7:11-14, James 4:6-10,

                                                      Micah 6:8

                                 c.  For effectiveness for the Lord: 2 Cor. 12:7-10

                                 d.  For conformity to the Lord: John 15:1, Col. 3:7-14
