Growing in the Grace and Knowledge of the Lord Jesus

           1.  Rely on God’s enabling grace for spiritual growth: 1 Corinthians 15:10

           2.  Desire the primary source for spiritual growth: 1 Peter 2:1-2, John 6:39

           3.  Fix one’s spiritual goal on knowing Christ: Luke 10:38-42, 1 Cor. 2:1-2, Phil. 3:7-8

           4.  Commit to a rigorous life of self-discipline

a.  The Discipline of the flesh (its weaknesses): Matt. 26:36-41, Mark 1:35

b.  The Discipline of the body (its passions): 1 Cor. 9:24-2

c.  The Discipline of our calling (its demands): 2 Timothy 2:1-7

d.  The Discipline of delight (His Word & Prayer): Proverbs 2:1-5

           5.  Be intentional in obeying what is learned: Luke 6:46-49, Gal. 5:7
