In this sermon we continue our study of the most personal of letters the Apostle Paul wrote – Philemon. In this letter, we have illustrated the theological truth of imputation. Theology matters. Doctrine determines life and nothing is more of a blessing and empowerment to live the Christian life than to know the depths of the doctrine of imputed righteousness. Lord willing, we want to look into this rich theology truth to help understand what God has done for us in Christ.

This sermon looks at how we are to love one another and thus build our lives and church on the Cornerstone of Love, Jesus Christ. The purpose of the cornerstone is to be the sure and right foundation for constructing a proper building. In the Christian life, Christ is our precious Cornerstone and He is a cornerstone of love.
In this sermon we continue our study of the most personal of letters the Apostle Paul wrote – Philemon. In this letter, we see not only the Apostle Paul as the model for Christian living, but the recipient of his letter – Philemon; a dear brother in the Lord in whom we will observe ten characteristics in the growing disciple of Christ.
In 1 Peter 2, Peter describes our Lord Jesus as “the cornerstone.” The purpose of the cornerstone is to be the sure and right foundation for constructing a proper building. In the Christian life, Christ is our precious Cornerstone on which we build our lives, His church, and our families. Understanding this truth of the Lord Jesus paves the way for greater joy and intimacy with Him and other believers.
This sermon is part 3 of our study of the most personal of letters the Apostle Paul wrote – Philemon. In this letter Paul models the Christian life in fellowship with other believers. We will see in him the proper actions/attitudes we are to have toward one another.
How do we see ourselves in Christ? Have we spiritually grown to view ourselves more and more as God does and not just being His children? In this text, Peter describes believers as “living stones” in Christ being built up as a spiritual house for spiritual roles and purposes. In this sermon, we will look at one of those roles and purposes – being holy priests. Understanding what God has done in us beyond simply saving us produces a greater joy and intimacy with Him and especially as His holy priests in and through Christ.
