Fellowship with God and One Another: Praying in the Holy Spirit

 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.  John 17:24

1. Love of God the Father giving us the Holy Spirit

a. For power to testify of the Lord Jesus, Acts 1:8

b. For love to show the world the reality of the Lord Jesus, Romans 5:5

c. For prayer to commune with our Triune God, Romans 8:26

TODAY

2. Love of God the Father calling us to Spirit-led fellowship

a. The Promise of Fellowship with God: 2 Cor. 3:13, John 14:21-23, 1 John 1:1-3, 2 Cor. 13:14

b. The Agent of Fellowship with God: John 14:15-17, John 15:26, 1 Cor. 2:9-12

c. Praying in the Holy Spirit: Eph. 6:18, Jude 20

o Jesus was filled by the Spirit: Matt. 3:16-17, John 3:34

o Jesus was led by the Spirit: Matt. 4:1

o Jesus worshipped by the Spirit: Luke 10:21

o Jesus ministered by the Spirit: Isaiah 11:1&2

Praying in the Spirit will be:

1. God-centered: John 17:1-2, Matt. 6:9-10

2. Intercessory-focused: John 17:9, 20, Heb. 7:25, Col. 4:12

3. Warfare-minded: John 17:15, Luke 22:31-32, Eph. 6:18

4. Relationship-based with God and other believers: John 17:14, Isaiah 9:6, Acts 1:14, Acts 2:42

5. Established, sustained and deepened by the love of God: John 17:24, Jude 20-21
