2. It will cloud one’s ability to hear the voice of the Lord: John 13:36-37, Matthew 26:30-33
3. It will prompt rash statements of commitment: John 13:37, Matthew 26:30-35
Some of the signs of impulsiveness in spiritual commitments:
– Failure to weigh the cost
– Failure to know what must happen to us in the commitment
– Failure to be teachable
– Failure to be faithful
4. It will adversely influence other believers: Mark 14:37-31, 2 Corinthians 12:7
5. It will bring chastisement from the Lord: Luke 22:54-62, John 21:15-17
6. It will send an inconsistent message to the world: Luke 14:25-30
