In our continuing series “When I am Afraid”, we come to the point of facing what is the greatest fear in the human experience – the fear of death. It is part of original sin in all humans that occurred in the Garden of Eden and continues to this day. In this series, we hope to look to the Bible and its understanding of the certainty of death, the causes, the categories, the consequences, and the only way to conquered death – the Gospel of the Lord Jesus.
In our continuing series “When I am Afraid”, we come to the point of facing what is the greatest fear in the human experience – the fear of death. It was what gripped the disciples at sea and is real in every human being. Lord willing, over the next few weeks, we hope to look at the certainty of death, the causes, the categories, the consequences, and the conquering of death. In doing so, we will grow in greater appreciation for the Gospel and the work of the Lord Jesus removing the sting and fear of death.
In our continuing series “When I am Afraid”, we have shifted our focus to what we may learn about ourselves and the Lord in fearful times. We are doing so by observing the disciples at sea. There were multiple times the Lord took them to sea to teach them lessons that would shape and equip them to live courageously for Him in a fearful world. Today, we observe Peter walking on the water and what we may learn of ourselves through his battle between faith and doubt.

Yes, even pastors, even the greatest of servants, like all Christians, fight fear of difficulties and tough circumstances. And the Apostle Paul provides Timothy and us, sound Biblical and encouraging ways to overcome fear.
