Pleasing God, Making Disciples of Jesus Christ

His Ways Are Wonderful, Excellent, Perfect

ISAIAH 28:29 – This also comes from the Lord of hosts; He is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom.”

THEME OF THE DAY:  HIS WAYS ARE WONDERFUL, EXCELLENT, PERFECT.   Today’s nugget is going to be different.  For our encouragement it is a wonderful poem written by A.M. Overton.  The poem was quoted in an excellent book title Overcoming Spiritual Depression.  It is a very good resource to either help ourselves when battling spiritual depression or equipping us to help those in the grip of this fierce emotional beast.  Now the poem . . .

He Maketh No Mistake

My Father’s way may twist and turn,
My heart may throb and ache,
But in my soul I’m glad I know,
He maketh no mistake.

My cherished plans may go astray,
My hope may fade away,
But still I’ll trust my Lord to lead,
For He doth know the way.

Tho’ night be dark and it may seem,
That day will never break;
I’ll pin my faith, my all in in Him.
He maketh no mistake.

There’s so much now I cannot see,
My eyesight’s far too dim;
But come what may, I’ll simply trust
And leave it all to Him.

And by and by the mist will lift
And plain it all He’ll make.
Through all the way, tho’ dark to me,
He made not one mistake.

PRAYER: “Father, I praise You that though I don’t understand Your ways, I may trust Your ways in all things.”
QUOTE: “Don’t try to discern how God is working in your life, rest in what He is doing in your life – making you like Jesus.”

Because of Him,
